Managing Director
Tom Sangster is an experienced professional civil engineer and project manager. He has over 30 years’ experience in civil and geotechnical engineering worldwide including foundations, soil reinforcement, geosynthetics, pipe materials, trenchless technology (both new installation and rehabilitation), pipeline condition assessment, project and risk management, and quality assurance. He also has significant marketing management and business develop-ment expertise internationally in the same fields. Over 19 years at Jason Consultants he managed and led all economic, business and market investigation consultancy worldwide as well as participating in engineering projects covering the full spectrum of works in trenchless technology and geosynthetics.
Within these areas he has advised industry Clients on market entry opportunities for new technologies, maximisation of competitive advantage, competitive structure of markets, distribution strategies; risk management; procurement and risk of major pipeline rehabilitation works; and manufacturing strategies. He is an internationally acknowledged expert on geosynthetics markets and on pipeline asset management and has also advised utility Clients on condition assessment of underground pipeline assets and on rehabilitation and asset management programme strategies.
He has undertaken projects in Europe, North America, Latin America, the Middle East, South East Asia and Australasia. In his early career he held senior commercial management positions in contracting and manufacturing companies in various branches of civil engineering.
